it is called gravity – the weight of the penis full of blood is not going to stand up on it’s own. So it isn’t a problem unless you consider getting erect or the earth having gravity a problem.
As for lying on yoru back for sex, I am sure you or your partner can easily help it enter where it has to go with no great effort assuming it is hard.
